The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is one of the world's premier ballooning events. It is one of the few places you can still mingle among the balloonists as they inflate and launch their colorful and fancy shapped balloons.

We provide you with quiet, peaceful surroundings that are close to all of the action. The Sandhill Crane Bed and Breakfast is located less than 8 miles from Balloon Fiesta Park. Park and Ride facilities are less than 10 minutes away.
Balloons often fly over the house. In fact, during the feista we have had at least one balloon land in our yard every year. Last year we had two land here within minutes of each other.
Mass ascensions occur several times throughout the 10 day period and on those mornings we are up at 3:30 preparing our expanded continental breakfast for our guests to grab and go. Many of our guests have elected to crew balloons. It's a great way to learn about balloons and meet new people. George and I try to crew at least once a year. Balloon flying competions occur during the middle of the week and those mornings find our guests sipping coffee on the portal as the balloons fly overhead. Often they are so low you can talk to the balloonists as they float by.
